Getting Here

During AK Adventure Unlimited’s operating season, Sitka is served by Alaska Airlines and Delta Air Lines. Both airlines offer daily non-stop flights to and from Seattle. Alaska Airlines offers additional itineraries which include stops in other Southeast Alaska communities.

Sitka is located approximately 2 hours by air from Seattle. To make a reservation, please book directly with the airlines via their websites below.

While You’re Fishing in Sitka

What should you expect while you’re here? If you book one of our packages, your lodging, lunches, and fishing supplies are all included.

Sitka has spectacular scenery and generally a mild climate. Be sure to bring a camera and clothing appropriate for cool (Mid 50s to Low 60s F) and wet weather. Rain squalls are unpredictable, but we supply rain gear. So, unless you have special sizing or fashion needs, we’ve  got you covered.

That queasy, icky feeling known as seasickness is a valid concern. We often fish in open waters which are subject to swells. For those in your party who are unsure about their likeliness to succumb, it has been our experience that in most cases the commonly prescribed “patch” of Scopolamine is extremely effective. For those whose motion sickness can possibly be severe, talk to you doctor about the combination of Promethazine and Ephedrine. Otherwise, over-the-counter options such as Bonine and Dramamine can also be effective. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!

Your package hotel is located in the heart of downtown, conveniently next to the boat dock, restaurants, a grocery store, and other attractions.

What else can I do?

When you’re not on the water, Sitka offers many other things to see and do. We recommend reviewing Sitka’s other attractions at the Sitka Convention and Visitors Bureau website.

Sitka’s urban area covers only about 2 square miles on a 1600 square mile island. Sitka is surrounded by dense forest and rugged terrain which is home to a large population of flora and fawns. Coastal Brown Bear, Sitka Black-Tailed Deer and Mountain Goat comprise the large land animals of Baranof Island. Many types of birds can also be found around Sitka, most notable are the large populations of Balk Eagles and Ravens. While out on the boat, it is likely you’ll see Humpback Whales, Sea Otters, Sea Lions, and a variety of sea birds.

The natural beauty of Sitka has to be seen to be believed. With it’s towering mountains, dense forests, and intricate bays and surrounding islands, Sitka and its surrounding area is a sight to behold.
